How to Connect a Lexmark Printer to WiFi (Every Method, Explained Properly)

There are several ways to connect a Lexmark printer to WiFi, including the wireless setup wizard, the WPS push-button method, the Lexmark printer app, and WiFi Direct.

Method 1: Using Wireless Setup Wizard (control panel)

  • Go to the printer’s home screen and select Settings.
  • Tap Network/Ports, then the Wireless option.
  • Choose Set up now or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your network’s SSID from the scanned list, enter the WiFi password on the keyboard, and select Done.
  • Let the confirmation screen show that the printer is connected wirelessly.

Method 2: WPS Push Button Method

  • Go to Settings on your printer, tap on Network/Ports, and then select Wireless.
  • Then, select Wi-Fi Protected Setup, and then tap Start Push Button Method.
  • Press the physical WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  • Let the printer automatically connect once it detects the WPS signal.

Method 3: Using Lexmark Print App

  • Open the Play Store or the App Store on your mobile device and install the Lexmark Print app.
  • Go to Settings on the printer, select Network / Ports > select Wireless > Setup using Mobile App, and note the printer ID.
  • Open the app and accept the terms of use and grant any permissions if asked, for instance, location access.
  • Enter the printer ID to connect with the device, choose your WiFi network in the app, enter the password, and confirm.

Method 4: WiFi Direct

  • Open Settings on your printer and select Network/Ports > Wireless > Enable Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Select Show PSK on Setup Page to check the shared password.
  • Open wireless settings on your phone or laptop and check for a network named DIRECT-xy-[your printer’s name].
  • Connect your wireless printer using the PSK (pre-shared key) shown on your printer.
