How to Connect HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe to WiFi?


Connecting the HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe to a wireless network is simple. But there are potential challenges that could disrupt the setup, such as a weak Wi-Fi signal, a wrong password, a hidden network name (SSID), or outdated printer firmware. 

Here is all you need to do to get your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer connected to Wi-Fi: 

  • Check if the printer is powered on or not. 
  • Insert some printer paper sheets into the front tray.
  • On the control panel, look for the information (i) button. Press and hold this button until the Cancel & Reset buttons light up with the (i) button. 
  • Next, press and hold the (i) button for three seconds.
  • Press and hold the Wireless and Resume buttons together, and release them.
  • A printout containing the Wi-Fi Direct name and password will come out. 
  • On your mobile device, open Settings and tap on the WiFi icon.
  • Make sure your WiFi is on, then search for nearby devices.
  • Select your printer’s Wi-Fi Direct name when it appears. 
  • Enter your Wi-Fi Direct password, and after that tap Connect or Join. 
  • Your device connects to the printer through WiFi Direct.
