How to Fix Brother MFC-J1205W Printer Offline Issue


You can get the Brother MFC-J1205W printer offline due to many reasons. Here are some primary solutions you can try to quickly remove the problem from your device. 

Method 1: Check Physical Connection 


  • Initially, you need to check if the USB cable is inserted properly to the printer and computer.

  • And if you are using an Ethernet cable, ensure that your cable is connected to the printer and router/access point.

  • Now, check if your printer is online. 

Method 2: Set as Default Printer


  • First you should access the control panel window on your device. 

  • Next, you need to right-click on your Brother printer and click on the “Set as default printer” option.

  • Then, check if your problem has been resolved. 

Method 3: Delete All Print Jobs

 

  • Go to the Control Panel and click on View Devices and Printers.

  • Then, look for your Brother printer, right-click on it, and select the “See what’s printing” option. 

  • Click on the Printer tab, select Cancel All Documents, then click on Yes.


Method 4: Check Printer Status


  • On the control panel windows, you should select the View Devices and Printers option. 

  • Next, right-click on the Brother printer option. 

  • Click on the “See what’s printing.”

  • Select Printer, then you need to uncheck the Use Printer Offline option. 


Method 5: Reinstall the Printer Driver


  • On the printer's page, you need to right-click on your printer and then follow the steps to remove it. 

  • After that, go to the official brand website to install the right driver. 

  • Now, see if the printer is working properly.
